Designing a Private and Organized Bedside Collection

A small, considered arrangement that stays within reach and out of sight.

A bedside collection is a small system: a place for products, a place for lubricant and cleaner, a place for cables, and a way to keep all three private.

The container

A lined, lockable case that fits a bedside drawer solves most of the problem. Inside it, individual pouches keep materials separate and a small compartment keeps a cable from wandering. Choose interior dimensions against your longest product rather than the case's exterior.

The essentials

A collection does not need to be large to be complete.

  • A fragrance-free water-based lubricant in a pump bottle
  • A cleaner suited to your materials, or mild soap nearby
  • A lint-free cloth for drying
  • One charging cable, stored with the products
  • A support cushion or wedge, if comfort matters

Keeping it private

Charge products inside the case or in a drawer rather than on a visible surface. Keep receipts and packaging out of shared recycling. Learn the travel lock so that a product moved in a drawer does not announce itself.
